Situated at the foothills of Glen Isla, on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park yet only 1hrs drive from Edinburgh, the area is an ideal location from which to explore Scotland. If you are a golfer then you are spoilt for choice with 100 golf courses within an hour’s drive of the cottage including Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie. Hill-walkers are also spoilt for choice with The Cateran Trail only 500metres from the front door and access to Glen Isla, Clova, Prosen and Cairngorms National Park only minutes away. If Scottish history is your thing then Glamis, Scone, Stirling and Edinburgh Castle are nearby and you can even track down your Scottish ancestors and clan history as geneology centres in Pitlochry. Alternatively there is first rate shopping in Perth & Dundee, both of which are 30minutes away, while the local towns of Alyth & Kirriemuir have a good selection of coffee shops, restaurants and shops. The sea is only ½ hour away with the stunning Lunan Bay beach or why not visit some of the pretty little fishing towns of Pitenweem and Elie in Fife.
